Laboratory Medicine: Clinical Pathology in the Practice of Medicine

This Book is a Must for Medical Students and Path Residents5
As a pathology resident, I refer to this book constantly. It is well-organized, concise yet complete, and has a fantastic index. I wish it had been available when I was a medical student--it would make an excellent textbook. For residents, it is ideal for board review. It is a beautiful hardcover book with many color pictures, for the price of a paperback.

Laboratory Medicine: Clinical Pathology in the Practice of Medicine Description

Following the recent Institute of Medicine report on medical error, the entire medical community has had to refocus on the importance of basic practices in achieving good patient outcomes. Laboratory Medicine: Clinical Pathology in the Practice of Medicine aims to better educate medical students (and physicians in need of refreshing) to order the correct tests and understand their clinical significance-especially in an era of continued managed care. With quick reference tables, illustrations and key point callouts on virtually every one of its 589 pages, Dr. Laposata has devised a topic-by-topic approach designed to become the indispensable clinical pathology companion to the Rubin & Farber Pathology or the Robbins Pathologic Basis of Disease.
